In addition to its enhanced dampening, the 2025 Pure Drive 98 continues to offer an irresistible combination of speed, power, spin, and precision. Other features include Babolat’s HTR System, a layup construction that stiffens the hoop in a way that not only enhances power but creates more stability and less frame wobble on off-centre impact (think rebound control). For 2025, the Pure Drive features a lower RA stiffness, giving it a nice boost in comfort without comprising the connected and powerful feel that has attracted generations of players. Babolat also enhances comfort with an updated version of NF2 Tech, a dampening technology that uses flax fibres in the throat to smooth out harsh vibrations.

BABOLAT was founded in 1875 in Lyon, France, and is the oldest racket sports company in the world. Its originator, Pierre Babolat, invented the first racket strings – made of natural gut, and 1925 Rene Lacoste won the French Open using a tennis racket strung with Babolat strings. Since then Babolat strings have won at least one Grand Slam title every year. In 1994 the company diversified from strings and introduced its first tennis racket. Babolat has continued to build its reputation by offering products at the forefront of technology and by supplying equipment to generations of champions who have won the most prestigious competitions.
